As the ONLY tofu manufacturer in Western Canada to have HACCP certification, we can ensure that our products are high quality and safe. HACCP is an international standard that uses systematically identifies potential hazards (biological, chemical, or physical). Control Points are established so that the products can be examined during each stage of production. The control points allows us to pinpoint the exact time when a product does not meet our standards. At the Control Points, we take samples and record all available information about the product. All recorded data is archived for future use and analysis. The certification also requires us to run tests on our own equipment to ensure they can properly detect any problems during production. Our HACCP certification is verified by SGS which is the world-leading third-party certification body. As one of the world’s largest certification bodies, SGS has issued over 80 000 certifications and develops other international standards. |

In keeping with Superior Tofu’s “Pure. And Simple” philosophy, our company received Kosher Pareve status on December 15th, 2003. Certified by The Orthodox Rabbinical Council of British Columbia, we’ve joined the ranks of progressive suppliers who have adopted strict measures to ensure the quality, cleanliness and purity of their ingredients and manufacturing practices.
Though the term “Kosher” refers to Jewish dietary laws, many other groups follow dietary restrictions akin to Judaism, including Muslims, vegetarians, and Seventh Day Adventists. There is also a growing demand for kosher products, as more and more consumers are perceiving “kosher status” products as having higher quality and purity. The BCK symbol will soon begin to appear on all of our Superior Tofu packaging, along with nutritional breakdowns on all of our soy products – our packaging proactively features the newest nutritional labeling requirements. Although this is not yet mandatory, the Superior Tofu team is committed to providing you with all the information you may want and need. As usual, we continue to only use Canadian grown, non-GMO soybeans. No preservatives, artificial colours or flavours are used. |
