Superior Soy Jerky
Ingredients:
- 2 pkg Superior Pressed Tofu
- 3 pieces star anise
- 1 cup water
- 2 pc. nutmeg
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 pc. cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vegetarian chicken powder
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp vegetable or sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- white pepper (optional)
Thinly slice Pressed Tofu (horizontally) and stir-fry in a pan with oil. In a pot, add water and remaining ingredients except oil and sesame seeds. Add tofu and simmer until it absorbs all the sauce. (Optional: Put pot in the fridge overnight without covering it to make the tofu even drier.) Drizzle with sesame oil and seeds on top. Ready to serve.
Makes a great side dish or snack.
