Tofu helps to RUN JUMP AND GIVE for charity

(VANCOUVER, October 15, 2009) – Superior Tofu’s Run, Jump, and Give charity event at the BC Sports Hall of Fame was truly a night to remember.  Almost 300 people in food services, distribution, and retail joined us for a great cause: to raise money for those less fortunate through the Superior Tofu Community Fund.   That night we were able to raise $7,000!

The fund was started through Vancouver Foundation, and we were privileged to have their president Faye Wightman speak to us during the event.

We were also very privileged to have Canadian Olympic Champion Carol Huynh join us that night.  She was definitely the center of attention, taking photos with guests and signing autographs.  Carol had also generously donated what was perhaps the two most sought-after items of our silent auction: the Olympic shoes and bag she had worn during the Olympic Opening Ceremony.

In addition to the silent auction, guests also enjoyed fabulous food and great games such as the Greg Moore race car simulator, an interactive life-size sports simulation, and our immensely popular spinning wheel.

Over the years, we have enthusiastically shared our success by supporting many local organizations such as: S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Richmond Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital, Red Cross United Way and the Breast Cancer Foundation. We also sponsor many community events around the city.

The Superior Tofu Community Fund serves as a monument to everyone who contributed and as a perpetual gift to the community, to which we are forever in debt for their support and loyalty. To learn more about Vancouver Foundation.  Please visit their web site www.vancouverfoundation.ca
