Flavourful Brown Sauce
Ingredients:
- ½ cup Superior Soy Drink, Sweetened
- 1½ cups water
- ¼ cup low-sodium tamari
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ¹/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in
- 2 tbsp water
Combine the 1½ cups water, tamari, thyme, and pepper in a small saucepan and boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium, whisk in the cornstarch mixture, and simmer, stirring, for 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Slowly whisk in the soy milk, being careful not to boil. Adjust seasonings. Makes 2 ¼ servings.
