Like Medium Firm or Fresh Tofu, soft tofu can be steamed with green onions, soy sauce and sesame oil for a quick appetizer or side dish. Purée and use in baking as a dairy or egg replacement.

Like silken tofu, soft also makes an ideal dairy or egg substitute. Purée and use in place of dairy in all of your creamy soups, puddings, dressings and dips. Substitute sour cream or mayo with mashed soft tofu. Instead of milk or yogurt, blend soft in fruit smoothies or shakes. Like Medium Firm or Fresh, it can also be used in baking as a dairy or egg substitute.

Storage and Handling

Tofu is pasteurized without preservatives. As a perishable product, always refrigerate tofu and handle it as you would meat or dairy products. Good for 3 days after opening. An unopened package is good up to the stamped expiry date, if it hasn’t been subject to temperature abuse.

Store and refrigerate unused portions in their original container and cover with plastic wrap or transfer to a resealable container. Store in the refrigerator. Before using, always drain excess water as more water will be released over time due to the high water content.
